Cape Grace is delighted to announce the completion of our newly refashioned, stylish and luxurious Pool and Outdoor deck, ahead of the 2014 summer season.

Reminiscent of a glamourous Mediterranean yacht, guests will revel in an elegant and relaxing outdoor experience in the opulent Waterfront Yacht Marina with views of the majestic Table Mountain in the background. Complete with a sunken lounge, rim flow pool and stylish bar, the newly re-fashioned space is in keeping with international design trends, whilst subtly retaining Cape Grace’s old world charm and distinct Cape Town flavour, for which the hotel is renowned. Nautical elements heighten the experience of being ‘on deck at sea’; with maritime design features seamlessly extended through from Signal Restaurant to the outdoor dining area, and the new Pool and Pool Bar.

ENHANCEMENTS INCLUDE:

  • retractable sail structures installed for shade
  • yachting-grade stainless fixtures such as bollards, winches, jam cleats and pullies which evoke the operational foredeck of a yacht and lend integrity to the overall style and feel.
  • changing rooms, shower facilities, a kid’s pool and a functional service bar.
  • access for limited-mobility guests.
  • a private and exclusive events venue. Cape Grace Deck DESIGN TEAM: Overall structural design of the area was conceptualised by local architectural and interior design company Design Three Sixty in conjunction with consultant Project Manager, Bruce Mitton.

Renowned interior designers, Kathi and Klaudia Weixelbaumer, who were responsible for the dramatic 2008 re-refashioning of the main hotel, commissioned celebrated Cape-based master craftsman, Pierre Cronje, to produce bespoke contemporary nautical-inspired furniture for the interior and exterior elements.
