PRECISION Air will spend more than 400m/- on recruiting local pilots through a special programme that will see more than 30 employed as part of the airline’s turnaround plans and restructuring of its operations.

The airline issued a statement announcing that 15 local pilots had already been recruited. 10  of them were undergoing training at the company’s headquarters in preparation for further training abroad under partial sponsorship of the airline. “We have been facing challenges in recruiting well-trained local pilots with qualifications to fly our aircraft.  Therefore, we established this programme to build a pool of local pilots who can fill up vacancy gaps within our company,” Precision Air’s Managing Director, Ms Sauda Rajab, said. Citing On Time Performance, that has shot to an average of 90 per cent at zero minute, she explained that the recruitment goes hand in hand with the company’s turnaround plans and restructuring of its operations.
