Kartagener Associates Inc. looks forward to connecting Machaba Camp with their extensive network throughout the travel trade in North America.  Machaba Camp is situated in the game rich Khwai area of the northeastern Okavango Delta, Botswana.  The concession is a 30,000 hectare reserve adjacent to the Moremi Game Reserve and is accessible by light aircraft from Maun (30 minute charter flight) or Kasane (45-60 minute charter flight).  From the Khwai airstrip, there is a 30 minute drive to camp.

This classic 1950s style luxury camp has 8 suites and 2 family suites available to a maximum of 24 guests.  All tents have en-suite bathrooms, living areas, verandahs, and outdoor showers.  Each unit is situated along meandering paths in large thickets of Ebony and Leadwood trees. The lodge’s name is actually derived from the Setswana word for the Sycamore Fig Tree. Machaba is a family-friendly camp, accepting children of all ages and offering special child rates.  A private vehicle is required for families with children under the age of 6 participating on game activities.

Exploring the rich wildlife area by 4X4 vehicle, on foot, and mokoro (dugout canoe-for guests 12 and older) is easy and most guests find that game viewing from the tents is also exciting! Visits to the local community, spa treatments, and use of the swimming pool are also available. Rates are fully inclusive of all meals, laundry, lodge activities, return vehicle airstrip transfers from Khwai, alcoholic & non-alcoholic beverages (excluding imported and premium drinks), levies & taxes.  Machaba Camp is independently owned and operated, and is aimed at the affordable luxury travel market–offering great value for money and a unique classic safari experience. Machaba Camp will appeal to the novice safari guest as well as a seasoned safari traveler. Machaba’s owners will be opening a second camp in the Okavango’s Gomoti Plains area in April 2016.
