Sun City’s iconic entertainment center closed its doors on Monday for a major refurbishment. According to a press statement, the entertainment center will be re-imagined and rebuilt at a cost of R300m as part of the R800m revitalization of Sun City.

“The Entertainment Centre opened its doors in 1980, as Frank Sinatra crooned to roaring crowds and it originally housed the Sun City Jungle Casino. There is no question that the Entertainment Centre has changed drastically over the years.   However, it is this change that will take the Entertainment Centre to new heights, as we aim at creating an experiential journey for guests,” says Colin Jonkers, Group Retail General Manager.

Sun City has not revealed an official date for the re-opening of the entertainment center. According to a post on their Facebook page, the entertainment center will be closed until at least the end of October 2016.
