There’s only one event in Uganda where you have the chance to run and bike alongside zebras, impalas, topi and warthogs. The Mihingo Charity Run and Mountain Bike Race is an annual event that brings together athletes and bikers for an exciting weekend at Lake Mburo National Park.

This year’s event will take place on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th June 2016 at the Mihingo Lodge campsite. Participants can take part in the 5km Fun Run/Walk, the 10 km, the half or full marathon.

There is a mountain bike 5km relay that requires 4 members in each team.

All proceeds from the Mihingo Charity Run and Mountain Bike Race go to the Mihingo Conservation Foundation which supports community and conservation projects around Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo, located in Western Uganda, is the smallest park in the country and is home to the highest population of leopard and zebra in the Pearl of Africa. The lakes in and around the park also attract a large variety of bird species. We recommend a stay at Mihingo Lodge, a luxurious family owned tented camp that offers a wide range of activities including horse-back riding, bush biking, walking safaris, night and day game drives, boat trips and kids bush courses to keep guests pleasantly occupied during a visit.

Contact A&K for more information about the run or to book your clients a stay at the beautiful Mihingo Lodge.
