Saruni, the Kenyan portfolio of lodges in Samburu and the Masai Mara, is launching new exciting activities from its Northern Kenya properties: panoramic air excursions and transfers with an aircraft based at Kalama airstrip, starting from 1st July until the end of September 2018.

The plane – a 6-seater Cessna 206 – will provide quicker, easier connections between Saruni Samburu and Saruni Rhino in Sera Conservancy, Reteti Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary in neighbouring Namunyak Conservancy and all the other exciting destinations in the region, considered one of the most beautiful landscapes in East Africa. Being based in Samburu, the plane will make it easier and cheaper to enjoy scenic flights over Kenya’s wild undiscovered North, covering vast landscapes from a bird’s eye perspective. Saruni clients will now be able to fly over breathtaking views and significant landmarks such as the Lake Turkana, the Lorian swamps, stunning Mathews range and more, from the convenience of Kalama airstrip; the main destination in Samburu and Northern Kenya for scheduled flights.

The Cessna 206 is a light aircraft manufactured for the specific requirements of full visibility as a bush plane with wings positioned above the windows ensuring guests non-obtrusive vision of the stunning features of Northern Kenya.
