RwandAir, has been granted a licence to start direct flight services to the United States (New York) and China (Guangzhou). While details are still being finalised, the arrival airport in New York will be either JFK or Newark, and the flights are likely to start towards the end of the year.

Thembela Dladla, Country Manager for RwandAir, says: “There are limited flights connecting the continent to both New York and China. Kigali has the mid-hemisphere advantage, and therefore caters to the whole of Africa for a connecting flight.”
