Wilderness Safaris has introduced new fully serviced, privately-guided mobile camping safaris in Namibia.

The exclusive safaris speak to adventurous travellers who want to “get back to nature and explore the vast and pristine wilderness areas”, with an expert guide, but with the comforts of a pre-setup camp. “The term ‘full serviced’ means that there is a team that prepares everything for guests for the duration of their trip: setting up the tents, cooking meals, preparing hot water for bucket showers, etc,” explains Clement Lawrence, Sales Manager at Wilderness Safaris Namibia. “If it’s only two guests, then we will use only one vehicle; if it’s more than two we use a back-up vehicle to facilitate the actual camp setup prior to guests’ arrival. With one vehicle, the two guests and two staff members travel together in the same vehicle, along with the guide and camp assistant.

The itineraries can be tailored to guests’ particular needs or requirements, with an itinerary being extended or combined with other itineraries to ensure guests experience the ideal journey.

A range of scheduled departures that are fully serviced, intimate and authentic journeys, offer the following:

  • An experienced and highly-trained Explorations guide to lead each journey from start to finish.
  • Participating in all activities, from tracking wildlife on foot, game drives and water activities, to scenic flights and bush dinners.
  • The advantage of travelling in small groups of up to seven people ensures personal attention and guarantees everyone a ‘window seat’.

The majority of an Explorations itinerary takes place in private wildlife concessions exclusive to Wilderness Safaris guests. One suggested itinerary includes a four-night/five-day safari in Kaokoland, where guests follow the dry river systems of the arid north-west, and have the opportunity to see elephant and other desert-adapted wildlife that survive in these areas.
