Marriott International has opened Johannesburg Marriott Hotel Melrose Arch and Marriott Executive Apartments Melrose Arch.

The hotel is owned and developed by the Amdec Group, and the opening marks the first purpose-built Marriott Hotel and the debut of Marriott Executive Apartments in South Africa.

The hotel features 306 guest rooms, two dining venues, seven meeting rooms, a ballroom, a 24-hour fitness centre, an outdoor heated swimming pool, and a pool bar. Marriott Bonvoy Elite loyalty members and Club paying members have access to the 24-hour M Club Lounge, which provides complimentary breakfast, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, free WiFi, and printing and power supplies.

The 84 apartments, ranging from one-, two- and three-bedroom units, are located on the upper floors of the building, and offer a personalised service for travellers seeking a longer stay.

Marriott International currently operates 60 hotels in South Africa, and has eight hotels in the pipeline.
