Today we want to briefly touch on false media reports that have been doing the rounds. These articles and blogs claim that South Africa will only open for tourists in February 2021. This information is purely speculative, and is only adding to the negative effect that the pandemic has already had on Africa’s tourism industry.

Right now, the Minister of Tourism and the Tourism Business Council of South Africa are advocating an earlier phased reopening of international tourism. This means that South Africa is eyeing September 2020 for opening its borders.

Recently South Africa’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, announced a further easing of restrictions. Safety remains a priority with practical health-focused protocols in place to safeguard travellers and guests.

September is spring here, and one of the best times to visit South Africa. We remain hopeful that we can welcome guests back soon! Do you have any questions for us? Or do you want to chat about your dream itinerary? Just pop us an email.
