The Uganda Wildlife Authority [UWA] has announced a promotional offer for tourists visiting the various national parks this festive season. The promotion which will be running from December through March next year will see park entry fees reduced by half for both local and international tourists. The move is hoped to attract more visitors and boost the tourism industry which is still limping from the catastrophic impact of COVID 19. The festive season price discounts are for destinations like Lake Mburo National Park, Queen Elizabeth NP, Kidepo Valley NP, Murchison Falls NP, Semuliki NP, Toro Semuliki Wildlife Reserve, Katonga Wildlife Reserve, Kabwoya Wildlife Reserve and Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve.

Other fees that were reduced are Gorilla tracking fees for East Africans from 250,000 to UGX 150,000, Foreign residents from USD 600 to USD 300 and Non-Foreign visitors from USD 700 to USD 400. Chimpanzee tracking East Africans permits have been reduced from USD 150 to USD 100, foreign residents from USD 150 to USD 100 and Foreign nonresidents USD 200 to USD 150. The  Executive Director of Uganda Tourism Board Lilly Ajarova received this news with great excitement. “This is a great move by Uganda Wildlife Authority and will go a long way in supporting the restarting of tourism. Let us take advantage of the discounts and keep touring Uganda,” she said.
