RwandAir plans to start flights from Kigali to New York (JFK) via Accra, in a bid to boost the airline’s recovery post-COVID.

The national carrier said in a statement that it had applied to the US Department of Transportation to provide passenger and cargo flights between Rwanda and the US.

Subject to regulatory approval, the airline said it planned to start the flights in December.

The airline plans to deploy its Airbus A330 on the route, but added that it might further expand the proposed services using other aircraft.
