The Palm River Hotel opened to the public yesterday, the 1st December 2021! Offering 31 rooms including 28 Deluxe Rooms, a Presidential Suite, an Executive Suite and an exclusive Villa, the newest accommodation offering in Victoria Falls promises to please all who stay.
Phase two of the project will be completed in early 2022, bringing the number of rooms to a total of 73 rooms & suites.

Located along the shorelines of the Zambezi River, among towering trees is the new Palm River Hotel – another development by the Spencer’s Creek Group, owners of Ilala Lodge Hotel. Both hotels are ideally situated within minutes of Africa’s Natural World Wonder, Victoria Falls in the heart of the popular tourist destination of Victoria Falls town, in Zimbabwe.

The vision for the Palm River Hotel was simultaneously simple and complex: a unique hotel offering unparalleled luxury without compromising a sense of home comfort; vast, unimpeded views which maintained shelter and privacy; the convenience of a central location preserved within a tranquil bubble of peace and quiet.

The Palm River Hotel has been inspired by the architectural style of the Queenslander, distinct in its savvy use of timber and corrugated iron and its consideration of climatic conditions. Highly skilled and professional teams of Zimbabwean architects and interior designers have taken these principles and modified them to create a hotel that is at once aesthetic and functional, modern and timeless, cosmopolitan and perfectly suited to the local environment. The innovative blend of traditional East-Coast Australian design and the unique landscape of the upper Zambezi River has resulted in a brand new and distinctive landmark for Victoria Falls.

The hotel offers the discerning traveler luxury 4-star accommodation with easy access to explore Africa’s Natural World Wonder of Victoria Falls, enjoy a plethora of activities on offer within the historical town of Victoria Falls or soak in the magic of the Zambezi River while experiencing the abundant wildlife and birdlife that inhabit the popular tourist destination.

The opening of the new and iconic Palm River Hotel was marked with a celebratory event held on November 24th on the hotel’s grand entrance foyer, overlooking the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe.

Honorary members of council including the Mayor of the Municipality of Victoria Falls, Cllr Dhlamini, investment partners, Old Mutual Zimbabwe, National Parks and Wildlife Authority and other esteemed guests were gathered to celebrate the opening of Victoria Falls’ first 73-room hotel on the Zambezi River.

Jim Brown, CEO of Spencer’s Creek Group, spoke to invited guests at the celebratory event and said, “The Palm River Hotel is a unique development; the first of its kind in Victoria Falls. I am proud to say that we are now the market leaders in this level of luxury accommodation.”
He continued, “The Palm River Hotel has been a substantial project, running over the course of two and a half years. We have endured dire circumstances through the Covid-19 pandemic, which has only further demonstrated our confidence, and the confidence of our investment partners, to achieve this iconic architectural triumph.”

Brown credited the return of tourism confidence in Zimbabwe to the ongoing efforts of the
Government for their vaccine roll-out program, the relaxation of the COVID protocols and reopening of the land borders for tourism.

The hotel is offering an opening special rate of US$189 per person per night inclusive of bed and
breakfast, and based on river-facing Deluxe King or Twin Rooms. Offer valid from 1st December – 28th February 2022.
