Botswana’s Okavango Delta and Victoria Falls, on the Zambia-Zimbabwe border are two of Southern Africa’s most visited tourist sites. Previously getting between the two had been an expensive hassle, involving detours via Johannesburg, pricey private charters or complicated border crossings on foot. However, thanks to Fastjet’s new flight route, travellers can now get to Victoria Falls in an hour from the airport at Maun, the delta’s gateway town.

It’s also key for conservation work, including antipoaching initiatives. “This new flight will help to boost tourism arrivals into the region — and in turn boost conservation and communities,” Colin Bell, co-founder of Natural Selection, confirms. “It’s mission-critical.”
