Cresta Hotels plans to open a new boutique hotel in Jwaneng, a mining town about 200km south of Gaborone.

The 50-room hotel, which is scheduled to open in 2024, will be located along the Trans-Kalahari highway, the gateway to Namibia, Kgalagadi and Maun.

Accommodation will comprise 36 standard en-suite rooms with showers, workstation, and coffee station. There will also be a paraplegic room, two standard suites and a presidential suite.

A further ten rooms will be long-stay apartments – suites with the same amenities as the standard rooms as well as a lounge area.

Facilities will include conference rooms, boardroom, reception lobby, swimming pool and 68 additional parking spaces.

Property refurbishments and upgrades

Cresta is upgrading and refurbishing a number of its hotels in Botswana, including the Cresta Thapama Hotel in Francistown, which is undergoing a major facelift and room refurbishment. Renovation of its 96 rooms is expected to be complete in the second quarter of this year.
