Adine Roode
Growing up, Adine was surrounded by wildlife, so her passion for wildlife was instilled from a very young age and a natural progress to continue in the footsteps of her mother Lente Roode. Adine has walked side by side of the Jabulani herd of elephants, from the time of arrival from Zimbabwe to current, and finds herself now as the key decision maker at Jabulani. Having being a significant part of the lodge’s success, Adine bought the lodge from her mother and took the full reigns over in 2014. Mother and daughter continue to work side by side at HESC which has significant synergy with Jabulani and where Adine is providing a safe alternative for elephant orphans with the aim to reintegrate such orphans into the semi-habituated Jabulani elephant herd.
