Ever wondered what is like to live and own a safari lodge or camp in Kenya?  Come and learn for yourself from Dominic Nchoe & Andrew Francombe.  Plus learn a bit more about Bush and Beyond.

It will be a fun evening full of helpful hints, fun facts & great stories.

Dominic Nchoe, Tangulia Mara Camp

Jackson Looseyia and Dominic Nchoe have partnered in Tangulia Mara Camp wholly owned by us, and operated with our Maasai team.

Our motivation is to demonstrate that Community Conservation can be “home owned,” it is a great alternative to the traditional cattle-owning way of life of our people and recognises the potential on our doorstep. We chose the name Tangulia – meaning “to lead” as our Vision Statement.

With over twenty-five years of guiding visitors to the Mara we are more than qualified to give our guests a truly authentic insight to Maasai culture, customs, beliefs, and knowledge of the fauna and flora here.

Dominic is a founding partner and spends his time in the camp ensuring that everything from the front office, kitchen, security to accommodation is running smoothly

Andrew Francombe, Ol Malo

Andrew Francombe is a child of Kenya, brought up with the wild African bush as his playground.  After school he spent a year in Argentina riding polo ponies as a gaucho and guiding tourists on horseback in Patagnia He then began his conservation work in Mozambique overseeing the 6 million acre Naissa game reserve.  Following his grandfather’s footsteps he became an able fixed wing bush pilot at the age of 19 and he is often called upon to help with game counts and animal operations for Kenya Wildlife Service, Save the Elephants and International Rhino foundation.  He has flown all over Kenya, in Malia and Garamba National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  He is also an accomplished helicopter pilot and has a helicopter based on Ol Malo for conservation work and scenic flights for guests

Andrew and his wife, Chyulu, work closely with is parents at Ol Malo and he is a natural bushman with an affinity for wide-open spaces and what they have to offer.

Bush and Beyond

The Bush and Beyond portfolio features Kenyan safari destinations as varied as the different habitats they occupy, and as individual as their owners.  The properties are run by individuals who know the land, the people and the wildlife that lives there.   All are privately owned and are in secluded conservation areas where guests will not have the peace of the bush destroyed.  This is the real Africa.
