Kalahari Plains Camp, set in a remote part of Botswana’s Central Kalahari Game Reserve, recently lost one twin room to a fire, the cause of which is not yet known. There are no immediate plans to rebuild the 10th room, so Kalahari Plains now offers a total of 9 rooms only, namely 2 family rooms and 7 twin rooms, accommodating a total of 22 guests. Kalahari Plains Camp offers some of the best summer wildlife viewing opportunities in Africa. Located in the Kalahari Desert biome in the central part of Botswana, this reserve is the largest conservation area in the country and one of the largest in the world. Its star attractions include the legendary Kalahari black-maned lion as well as some of the world’s best cheetah viewing.
