Set upon a raised deck with breath-taking views of the mighty Zambezi River and private Kandahar Island, the organic combination of wood, thatch, canvas and glass of Toa Spa blends effortlessly into the natural surrounds. Soothing interiors, in earthy tones, are complimented by copper, glass and splashes of vibrantly coloured ‘chitenge’ (African fabrics).
Toa means Ironwood (a large tree indigenous to the area) in Tonga, one of the official languages of the region. The Spa is named after a magnificent specimen of this age long resident of the banks of the iconic River, alongside which it is built.
Sharing the aspirations of the Africology brand; our wish is to offer our guests the opportunity to enter a space where they are able to let go, allow their minds to clear and become quiet, whilst their bodies are revitalized; readying them to participate in life’s journey once again.
Africology can be considered as the leading natural, eco-friendly and holistic spa and skincare company in South Africa, with its success spanning across international borders such as the USA, Europe and Britain.
Therapeutic in its approach, Africology only uses all natural ingredients that are bio-identical to the body’s biology. Product formulations and spa treatments are inspired by the wisdom of Africa’s traditional healers and celebrate Africa’s vibrant heritage, communities and plant life.
At Toa Spa, an honoured member of the Africology brand, our aim is always to ensure that the body and biology are treated in harmony whilst enjoying a truly authentic African offering.
