“The official opening of Carana Beach and the arrival of the hotel’s first guests are just days away”, Alan Mason, the Director of the company, told Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, when he visited the property ahead of the opening of the hotel. The first guests are booked to arrive at the new property soon and management on site confirmed to the minister that the hotel was ready and just waiting for the last official formality from the Department of Planning. before opening its doors.

The management and staff of Carana Beach have been hard at work, preparing the hotel and overseeing the final touches. The staff have been undergoing on-site training sessions and mock exercises for several weeks to get a good feel for working in their new environment. Testing of infrastructure and operations has run smoothly and landscaping works are continuing to restore the natural vegetation around the chalets and the rest of the property.

After his visit to the property this week, Minister St.Ange commented that he was impressed by the latest addition to the hotel network of Seychelles.

“We see today a Seychellois company re-investing in the tourism industry of our islands. Their new 40-chalet hotel, pitched at being a four-star property with all the frills of a five-star, was a needed addition to our hotel network. We salute the Mason’s Group for putting their faith in our tourism industry and we wish them success. Seychellois re-invest in the industry when they see signs of growth and also when stability exists. Our island’s tourism industry is working, and it is only by working together in the existing public/private sector partnership that we can continue to consolidate our industry for the long term,” said the Minister.

The Carana Beach beach-side restaurant and pool-side eatery area are open to everyone. There is also a spa with two treatment rooms. “Opening now, just ahead of the large bank of international press arriving in Seychelles for the 2016 edition of the carnival, will increase visibility of the new hotel, and I encouraged the management to get these members of the press to see their new addition to what is on offer in Seychelles,” Minister St.Ange concluded.

The hotel management expressed their thanks to everyone, saying: “On behalf of the entire Carana Beach family, we sincerely thank all our partners for their support before and during the hotel¹s development phase, and we hope we can continue to count on that support as we set the stage for our official launch.”
