As of 1st January 2016 the Sabi Sand Wildtuin (SSW) implemented the Guest Conservation Contribution as per a press release communicated in December 2015. The introduction of this is to assist in the anti-poaching and conservation efforts to secure the long term survival of endangered and compromised animal species, particularly in light of the devastating effect of poaching on our rhino and elephant populations.
The Sabi Sand Reserve has formed a foundation namely the Sabi Sand Conservation Trust that will bring together all of the reserves’ conservation initiatives and resource.
Virgin Limited Edition and Ulusaba fully support this trust and after much discussion, we have decided to implement the GCC and include R100 per person per night (excluding VAT) on each guests’ invoice upon confirmation of their booking. The GCC will be applicable to all new bookings from the 1st April 2016.
