Nile Safari Lodge, a new luxury lodge on the shores of the River Nile River in the north-west of Uganda, will open in August.
The lodge is near Murchison Falls National Park and Budongo Forest, and will have eight self-contained en-suite rooms, referred to as bandas. The rooms are slightly raised from the ground and have a wooden deck and modern thatched roof.
Nathalie Van Pée, the lodge’s Director, told Tourism Update that each of the six bandas has a private terrace with bathtub, indoor and outdoor shower. There is also a honeymoon banda with outdoor plunge pool and a star-bed. A family banda has two bedrooms, each self-contained, with a mezzanine area. The family accommodation has a shared living room and a private swimming pool, and can accommodate up to eight guests.
Facilities include a massage room with panoramic view of the River Nile, a lounge, restaurant and infinity swimming pool.
Activities at the lodge include game drives in Murchison Falls National Park, boat ride on the Nile, Delta and Lake Albert, trek to the top of the Murchison Falls, bird watching, and fishing in the River Nile.
