Asilia Africa has opened Usangu Expedition Camp, a new luxury tented camp, in the remote corner of Tanzania’s Ruaha National Park.
The seasonal camp, on the banks of Usangu wetlands, is the first tourism operation in the area. It operates from June to November and accommodates a maximum of eight guests. The four solar-powered guest tents are built on a raised wooden decking, and have en-suite bathrooms with traditional safari bucket showers and private decks.
Every booking will have their own private guide and vehicle, allowing guests to tailor their activities to their personal interests. Activities include walking safaris, game drives and canoeing and boating safaris, among others.
Guests can fly in to the nearest airstrip, Jongomero, which is serviced daily with flights from Dar es Salaam.
Asilia Africa operates camps in Tanzania, Kenya and Zanzibar.
