Lemala Camps and Lodges has announced plans to expand its Tanzania offering with the opening of a new lodge, Lemala Ngorongoro Lodge.
“Lemala Ngorongoro Lodge will echo the style and ethos of the existing Tanzanian lodge portfolio of Lemala Kuria Hills, Mpingo Ridge and Nanyukie with the same focus on space, guest comfort and the same commitment to preserving the natural environment,” said James Haigh, Head of Sales & Marketing for Lemala Camps and Lodges.
The new lodge will, subject to government approval, offer 22 rooms as well as a lounge area and spa, with plans to open at the end of 2024.
It will be within a kilometre of Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp and will use the same Lemala Gate access road to and from the Crater floor.
Ngorongoro Tented Camp is scheduled to close for refurb on February 18 and will reopen in June with nine standard tents and a new two-bedroom unit. The refurbishments will include a soft interior upgrade as well as some back-of-house improvements.
