Mozambique’s state-owned national airline, Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), plans to resume flights between Maputo and Lisbon, operated by Fly Modern Ark, starting from December 12.
The airline is scheduled to operate flights on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, using a Boeing 777. This service to Portugal will be LAM’s longest non-stop route, and Lisbon will be its fifth international destination.
The flight schedule is as follows:
Flight TM704 will depart Maputo on Sundays at 21h45, arriving in Lisbon the next day at 06h40. On Wednesdays, the departure will be at 22h00, with an arrival at 06h55 the following day. On Fridays the flight departs Maputo at 22h15 and arrives in Lisbon at 07h10 the next day.
For the return journey, flight TM703 will leave Lisbon on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 16h35, arriving in Maputo at 05h05 the following day. On Saturdays, the flight departs from Lisbon at 16h00 and arrives in Maputo at 04h30 the next day.
Since taking over the management of LAM in April 2023, Fly Modern Ark has made significant strides in reducing LAM’s debt and enhancing operational efficiency, leading to the relaunch of long-haul flights.
