The sixth International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA) will be hosted by the City of Cape Town and will take place at the Cape Town City Hall from May 28 until June 1.
Since the inaugural event in 2019 there have been over 3 400 entries from 97 countries, making it clear that there is not only appetite but great enthusiasm for more interaction with African and South African tourism film and video content. The ITFFA honours all video content related to the tourism and travel industry.
“We are thrilled to be able to showcase the best of Africa’s digital tourism marketing content on the global stage,” says James Byrne, Co-Director of the ITFFA.
Caroline Ungersbock, ITFFA Co-Founder, adds: “When films are produced in our country, they utilise not only tourism services and related products, but the locations that are used during filming, whether it be for advertising purposes, documentaries or features, are then exposed to both national and international markets that either want to come on vacation, shoot their next production, document their next conservation piece, or shoot their advert.”
National, regional and local tourism agencies, destinations, tourism products, tourism services, advertising agencies, independent film makers, documentary makers, and story tellers are all eligible to enter for ITFFA.
TV ads, promotional films, video campaigns, videos for social media, video blogs, documentaries, reports and TV magazines related to the promotion of tourism destinations, products and services are invited to participate in this exclusive and unique festival on the African continent.
