Following one of the closest elections in the history of the Association for the Promotion of Tourism to Africa, we are both excited and proud to announce the addition of two new members to our Executive Board. This election showcased the passionate involvement of our community, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to each of you for your active participation and votes.

Joining us on this journey are Angela Miller and Melissa Schreiber, who bring with them a wealth of experience and a deep love for African travel. Their expertise will be invaluable as we gear up for an incredibly exciting year ahead in 2024.

Angela Miller has been an integral part of the travel industry for over 35 years, with a special focus on international travel, including African safaris. A seasoned traveler to more than 40 countries, Angela’s experience in navigating the complexities of remote travel is exceptional. As a dedicated member of APTA for about 20 years and a former president of our Orange County chapter, Angela’s leadership and vision have been instrumental in our growth.

Melissa Schreiber is the North American Sales Manager for the Mantis Collection, based in Denver. With 25 years of experience in the travel industry, Melissa’s last decade has been devoted to African travel. Her extensive work with the Mantis Collection, the Zambezi Queen Collection, and the Cape Grace Hotel underlines her profound connection to Africa. Melissa’s passion and expertise are a perfect match for APTA’s mission, and we are thrilled to have her onboard.

As we look forward to 2024, we are filled with excitement about the new heights APTA will reach with Angela and Melissa’s contributions. Their combined experience and passion will undoubtedly help propel APTA to new successes.

We also take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to Lisa Greyhill and Elizabeth Crookston, our outgoing board members. Lisa and Elizabeth have been pillars of strength and wisdom for our organization, and their dedication has left an indelible mark on APTA. We will greatly miss their presence on the board, but their contributions will continue to resonate in our ongoing efforts. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

Thank you once again to all our members for your engagement in this election. Together, we stand poised for a year full of promise and progress in promoting tourism to Africa.
