Villa Martins on Inhaca Island, Mozambique, officially opened its doors to guests in December.
Located at the southernmost tip of the island, Villa Martins is a brief ten-minute boat journey from the Machangulo Peninsula and Santa Maria.
Inhaca Island is approximately 34km east of Maputo. Part of the Inhaca District, the island is relatively compact, measuring about 12km by 7km.
Most visitors access the island through the lodge’s scheduled boat transfers departing from Maputo. The boat journey not only provides convenient transportation but offers guests breath-taking views of the coastline and the azure waters.
The lodge is 80 metres from the beach at high tide, creating an ideal setting with year-round sightings of flamingos and Mozambique’s signature dhows.
Villa Martins provides six Standard Rooms, each capable of accommodating two adults, and four Family Rooms designed for two adults and one child under the age of 12.
Facilities include an in-house restaurant that offers a diverse range of dining options, and an outdoor pool.
Activities include kayaking, snorkelling, a Santa Maria sunset cruise, a trip to Portuguese Island, a lighthouse and Inhaca village tour, whale watching and fishing.
