Waldorf Astoria Hotels and Resorts, a luxury hotel and resort brand under Hilton Hotels, will open bookings for its luxury resort on Platte Island in the Seychelles from the end of the month.
This is the first Waldorf Astoria to make the Seychelles its home and the fifth destination in Hilton’s Seychelles portfolio.
With a 14-kilometre lagoon, palm tree forest, and its own coral reef, Platte Island remains a largely untouched natural landscape in the Seychelles.
“I have never witnessed an island as pristine as Platte Island, nor one so teeming with wildlife,” said Elias Pertoft, GM of The Waldorf Astoria Seychelles Platte Island.
The hotel offers 50 beach facing villas with the largest villa (Eagle Ray Villa), offering five bedrooms.
The hotel features a pool and beach bar, a spa, private pools and a concierge assigned to each villa. Guests will be able to enjoy a wide variety of cuisine experiences ranging from Creole Latino dishes from the resort’s Maison des Epices to artisanal pastries and coffee at the Peacock Terrace.
To support its sustainable efforts, the hotel will be powered mostly using solar energy. It is also growing much of the fresh produce in its own vegetable garden.
