This was revealed during a cocktail function hosted on Monday evening by Air Mauritius (MK) at the Octo Bar at The Leonardo in Sandton, members of the travel trade were treated to a night of networking and exclusive insights into what’s on the cards for the airline.
Nooriena Davids, MK’s Country Sales Manager for Southern Africa, led the formalities.
“This past year has seen many changes, flight disruptions, delayed and cancelled flights, and most recently, the cyclone disruptions. We want to thank you all for your unwavering commitment, dedication and support,” she said.
Davids revealed that the restoration of MK’s schedules and maintenance of its fleet are the airline’s priorities for 2024. While MK awaits the delivery of an additional A350 in 2025, it will continue leasing its aircraft to ensure sufficient capacity on its routes.
The industry was also introduced to Sixtine Marot, who has been at the helm of MK’s sales and marketing team for the past six months. Marot expressed her gratitude to her local team for their role in the airline’s growth and revealed that the revival of MK’s DUR route could be expected as soon as this year.
“Durban is definitely the next step for Air Mauritius in South Africa,” she said.
