A new luxury sole-use tented camp, Daunara Safari Camp, is scheduled to open in the Okavango Delta in April.
The five spacious tented suites offer panoramic views of the Delta. Connected by raised wooden walkways, three standalone suites provide privacy, while two interconnected suites with a shared sitting room cater for families.
Owners Lisa and Dave Lubbock, inspired by their extensive safari adventures across Africa with renowned safari specialist Matt Coppham, collaborated with Fox Browne Creative to bring their dream of a unique luxury retreat to life. Their goal was to create an immersive experience for guests while positively impacting the surrounding community through the Daunara Foundation.
During the construction of Daunara Safari Camp, the Daunara Foundation will support the conservation of the concession in which the lodge is situated. This support will include creating employment for members of the village at the new lodge, building a school and a health clinic in the local village, building and repairing infrastructure in the village and creating an anti-poaching unit that will be staffed by village members.
Daunara Safari Camp has a standalone massage tent overlooking the surrounding landscape and a gym with beautiful views. Facilities include an intimate indoor sitting room with a communal dining table, and a fully stocked bar and cellar. Private chef-prepared, farm-to-table culinary delights can be enjoyed in both indoor and outdoor dining settings. Outdoor spaces feature shaded verandas, a sunken firepit, and a swimming pool, all overlooking the Delta.
Activities at the camp will include game drives, boat cruises and scenic helicopter flights among others.
