In doing so, we not only showcase the beauty of wildlife but also to highlight innovative approaches to preserving endangered species. Twice this month, we had the incredible opportunity to broadcast a pioneering operation aimed at protecting rhinos.

The forward-thinking conservation organisation, Rhino Revolution, is exploring the potential of a revolutionary new ear tag for rhino monitoring. This technology, significantly more affordable than traditional methods, minimizes the impact on the animals and seamlessly integrates into their natural behaviours.
This is the first time that this tech has been used to obtain data on rhinos and if it is effective the possibilities both for research on the behaviour of rhinos where we can truly discount the impact of human presence, and for contributing to effective rhino monitoring and anti-poaching efforts are huge!
As with all technology being trialled in a new field, Rhino Revolution anticipate there will be some obstacles to overcome along the way but are eager to put the tech through its paces and to work with the designers to refine it until it can be fully functional in the fight to protect rhinos!
The devices have already been attached to two of the black rhinos that we monitor and this live broadcast of horn trimming and collaring operation more devices will be fitted to some of the white rhino under our protection!
