During a LIVE Safari in Pridelands, Painteddog.tv’s safari guide, cameraman, and guests spotted an injured cow elephant with a potentially life-threatening injury, and with at least 1 calf with her. Our team, along with Pridelands Conservancy and Balule Nature Reserve, decided to try and help the mother elephant.
So, a few days later, Painteddog.tv CEO Brent Leo-Smith and crew set out as usual for a sunrise LIVE Safari with the aim of trying to relocate the injured elephant, as did a 2nd vehicle to improve the chances of finding her. She was located, and helicopter pilot Gerry McDonald, wildlife vet Pete Rogers, and reserve management were notified. The operation was under way! In a few short hours, the elephant’s wound was treated, and she was sent on her way in the hope that bit of assistance she received will help her heal.
Thank you so much to our generous and loyal supporters, as well as Conserv.Earth who covered cost of the operation!
