ANANTARA Bazaruto Island will complete the renovation of its two-bedroom villas, along with a new arrival lounge at the resort’s main area, ahead of what the luxury hotel brand expects to be a busy end-of-year season. The luxury property also recently completed a new herb garden and barbecue area under Anantara’s Spice Spoons brand, immersing guests in the rich culinary traditions and colourful flavours of Mozambique.
Anantara Bazaruto GM, Christian Sanchez, said the renovation of its five two-bedroomed villas would be completed by December. The overhauled arrivals lounge – designed to provide a seamless and welcoming start to every guest’s stay – will be completed by the end of November. “These upgrades are all about enhancing our guests’ journey, from arrival to culinary experiences to luxurious accommodations, ensuring an even more memorable and enriching visit,” Sanchez told Tourism Update.Split across two categories, the two-bedroom villas have plunge pools, dining salas, spacious living areas and kitchenettes, with the larger Anantara Pool Villa also featuring a Jacuzzi. Demand expected to reboundWhile demand for travel to the resort was somewhat dampened by post-election instability, Sanchez anticipated demand to rebound. “We continue to see interest from both trade partners and consumers, especially as the upcoming high season approaches. Travellers are drawn to the tranquillity and natural beauty of our island retreat, which offers a peaceful escape amidst any external challenges.” He pointed out that the Bazaruto Archipelago’s limited number of resorts and rich natural diversity were a major drawcard for visitors. “The stunning dunes, rich marine life, and the distinction of being one of only three places in the world where black marlin (a popular sportfish) can be found, make it a haven for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike,” Sanchez explained, further touting Mozambique’s appeal as an authentic beach destination.
