Following our recent announcement of the new Tamboti Superior Suites opening at Kapama River Lodge on December 15, 2025, we’re delighted to share the next step in River Lodge’s exciting transformation journey.
This evolution represents more than a design refresh, it reflects Kapama’s ongoing commitment to harmonizing modern luxury with authentic African warmth, creating spaces that both inspire and connect guests to the natural world around them.
REFRESHED SUITE NAMES – ROOTED IN NATURE
As part of this transformation, we’re introducing new suite names across Kapama River Lodge, inspired by Kapama’s Magnificent 7 Trees – seven iconic tree species that symbolize the soul of the African savanna. These trees are the quiet custodians of the Lowveld, supporting the ecosystem by feeding herbivores, sheltering wildlife, and enriching the landscape with their enduring presence.
The new suite names now celebrate these remarkable trees and the stories they tell:

Leadwood Suites – formerly the Spa Suites – will open in July 2026
Marula Suites – formerly known as the Deluxe Suites
Our Royal Suites remain unchanged
In addition, the seven Standard Courtyard Suites will be retired
