Malawi Airlines has confirmed it will launch a new Lilongwe–Entebbe route on 15 December 2025, operating four times per week. The service is expected to boost trade, tourism, and connectivity between Malawi and Uganda.
The announcement followed a meeting at Malawi Airlines headquarters between Uganda’s High Commissioner to Malawi, Ambassador (Rtd) Col. Fred Mwesigye, and Malawi Airlines CEO Solomon Bekele Debay. Ambassador Mwesigye was joined by senior officials from the High Commission and the Ugandan community in Malawi, who welcomed the route as a major step forward in strengthening bilateral ties.
