Architectural vision by Belgian architect Bram Bortolin and locally made structures anchor a refined, place-first experience inside Tarangire National Park
Tanzania, January 5, 2026 — Siringit Collection unveils Siringit Tarangire Camp, a new, design-forward safari camp set amid the indigenous flora and elephant corridors that define Tarangire National Park. Opening June 2026, the intimate camp brings Siringit’s signature, low-impact luxury to one of Tanzania’s most wildlife-rich ecosystems, pairing cosmopolitan design sensibility with a deep commitment to African craftsmanship.
Conceived by the owning family of Siringit Collection, the camp’s tented architectural concept and plans were led by Belgian architect Bram Bortolin, translating Tarangire’s landscape into a light-touch, highly functional retreat. Interiors were developed in collaboration with South Africa–based designer Meg Vaun, creating a cohesive aesthetic that feels elevated yet effortless, contemporary yet unmistakably Tanzanian.
“Tarangire’s rhythm, elephants moving through the grasslands, light shifting across ancient baobabs have inspired every decision,” said Peter Bruins, Country Manager of Siringit Collection. “We asked ourselves how to honor that sense of place. The answer was to create something beautifully considered and quietly luxurious, then ensure as much as possible is made in Tanzania.”
“Designing in Tarangire calls for humility, creating something beautiful and highly functional for guests while keeping the lightest possible footprint on the landscape. The egg-shaped tents were a true technical challenge, but the result feels quietly distinct and deeply rooted in place,” said Bram Bortolin, Managing Director of BraBo Architecten.
True to Siringit’s ethos, structures and tents are locally manufactured in Tanzania, supporting artisans and suppliers while preserving authenticity and minimizing transport footprint. Wherever feasible, finishes and furnishings are also locally produced, integrating regional textures and techniques with Meg Vaun Interiors’ refined lines and palette.
Beyond design, Siringit Tarangire Camp focuses on ease and immersion: guided game drives timed to the park’s famed elephant herds, seasonal birding, and sunset viewpoints over the Silale Swamps. A light environmental touch, the camp is fully solar-powered with battery storage, supported by a backup generator for extended low-sun periods. A gravity-fed water system with on-site filtration, combined with greywater recycling and a small guest footprint, ensures attention remains firmly on the surrounding landscape.
