On the 7th of January, the beloved Chapman’s Baobab, a national monument of Botswana and one of the 3 largest trees in Africa, fell. It is not yet clear what caused Chapman’s to fall, or whether the tree is still alive. The National Parks and Museums authority of Botswana is sending a team of botanists and archeologists to conduct studies on the tree to establish the cause and extent of the damage.
