=We are proud to announce that Jill Wagner has joined our Great Plains Conservation team based in Cape Town,” says Dereck Joubert, CEO of Great Plains Conservation.
“I’ve known Jill for a good few years and watched and listened to her comments from across the room at various round-table meetings. I immediately recognised that spirit of a Great Plains Conservation personality from the start. I knew then, that she would eventually work for us. I think it is about a shared ethos and integrity that our small team lives by. It is something that cannot be taught in courses or read in our company guidelines (which we don’t actually have!) – it is just there. So, announcing Jill’s engagement is more like announcing an extension of our Great Plains family.
Jill has been in the tourism and hospitality industry for her entire career, having worked for Southern Sun, Halcyon Hotels, Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Retreat and most recently, Red Carnation Hotels. She brings with her a wealth of experience from working Front Office, Food and Beverage, Sales & Marketing and especially her Third-Party Product management, which will be invaluable to us as we expand our current offering to our loyal trade partners.
Jill is passionate about conservation and is, therefore, the perfect fit for the Great Plains Conservation mission, which is to use tourism to enhance tourism and wildlife, as we have been doing, by increasing our land purchases/leases in critical areas, such as Zimbabwe, our ongoing rescue of rhino via the Rhinos Without Borders project, predator work in Kenya and, of course, our community efforts in all three countries.”
‘’I am delighted to have joined this highly-respected and global-thinking team. Great Plains Conservation places conservation first, with some of the world’s leading safari experiences in Botswana and Kenya currently, with Zimbabwe coming soon!” says Jill.
