TAASA Luxury Lodges & Camps proudly announces that TAASA Migration Camp has successfully completed its first full seasonal relocation, moving from Kogatende in the northern Serengeti to the iconic Ndutu region for the 2025/2026 green season. Following a highly successful northern season in Kogatende, the camp closed briefly in November to facilitate the move and has now reopened in Ndutu, where it will operate from 1 December 2025 through 31 March 2026, perfectly timed with the southward movement of the Great Migration.
A Strong Finish to a Remarkable Northern Season
TAASA Migration Camp opened on 4 July 2025 in Kogatende, where it enjoyed an extraordinary inaugural season. Guests have praised the camp for its African-chic interiors, immersive family experiences, exceptional guiding and thrilling wildlife encounters. From massive herds passing through the camp and dramatic river crossings to abundant predator sightings, the northern months delivered unforgettable safari moments.
Perfectly Timed With the Great Migration’s Movements
The December move positions TAASA Migration Camp at the heart of the Great Migration as it shifts southward. Ndutu, located between the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, is one of East Africa’s most iconic wildlife regions, especially during the green season.
December in Ndutu offers:
- Lush, rejuvenated plains after the short rains
- Early herds of wildebeest and zebra arriving in search of fresh grass
- Increasing predator activity as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas follow the herds
- The build-up to calving season, which peaks in late January and February
While peak calving begins later in the season, December offers a thrilling combination of early arrivals, dramatic big cat action, and vibrant landscapes perfect for photography.
Migration-Focused Safari Excellence
Designed to follow the rhythm of the herds, TAASA Migration Camp delivers a highly immersive, movement-based safari. The camp is ideal for travelers seeking:
