The Global Travel Collection has recently started offering Malawi as a destination. Their Senior Manager Revenue Development, Andy Hampshaw met up late last year with a delegation from the Malawi Ministry of Tourism to review the planned Malawi packages, and Andy shared the following blog with us recently:
“We had the honour to welcome the Director of Tourism for Malawi, Noah Edson-Nansongola, PhD, his deputy Ian Musyani MCIM and Dyson Banda, Tourism Attache from the Malawi High commission, to the Global Travel Collection (part of the Internova Travel Group) London offices in November, during World Travel Market. The meeting was to meet with me and our IC partner Emmanuel Watchukwu to review the wonderful luxury packages that Emmanuel has curated.
It was great to hear from the delegation of the huge success Malawi’s rewilding programmes have been and the positive difference, they are making to the country.
Our market research at the start of 2025 showed amongst the affluent younger traveller, they wanted to visit new destinations, which are generally undiscover. Emmanuel and I quickly discovered that Malawi would certainly tick that box. Of equal importance was sustainability and rewilding projects, to hear from Mr Edson-Nansongola on the wonderful efforts Malawi is making, this was another huge box ticked. Therefore, we worked during 2025, to create the packages which would be supported by Internova. We soon had the blessing and support of the wider Group, so it was all systems go,
With the help and support of Mr Dyson Banda along with Dr Alex Sukali, Chairman of the Malawi / UK Chamber of Commerce, we were able to create the packages and market them to the many Independent Advisors within the Internova family.
We expect this trend to continue throughout 2026, which is why we’re delighted to be creating bespoke packages to this exciting destination.
We are very pleased to also see the interest being generated by our American colleagues in Emmanuel’s packages, where the interest in new and exciting destinations mirrors that of the UK. We are very much looking forward to promoting Malawi throughout the year.”
