Tucson, AZ – South African Airways Vacations (SAAV) are to offer free car rental (Toyota Corolla or similar) on their Garden Route Splendour self-drive package. SAAV also offers upgrades, such as automatic transmission, insurance, and GPS navigation, besides a Trip Journal, which includes driving tips, maps and suggested stops. SAAV has made the self-drive experience even easier, with an airport meet-and-assist service, which aids arriving passengers through the entire car rental transaction.
The 14-day package includes airfare from New York (JFK) or Washington D.C. Dulles (IAD) on South African Airways and stays at luxury 5-star boutique properties. Passengers stay three nights at the Alphen Boutique Hotel in Cape Town, then drive along the Whale Coast and stay two nights near Hermanus Lagoon at the Mosaic Private Sanctuary – Lagoon Lodge. The itinerary continues up to Knysna, where travellers stay two nights at The Turbine Boutique Hotel & Spa.
