Boundless Southern Africa, the tourism marketing and investment promotion initiative for Southern Africa’s Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs), has developed a new e-learning tool for tourism in the region. The first courses on the Maloti-Drakensberg Transfrontier Conservation Area and the Great Limpopo Transfrontier Conservation Area are now live online.
What is a Transfrontier Conservation Area (TFCA)? What potential for sustainable tourism do they offer? How does the border crossing from Kruger National Park in South Africa to Mozambique work in the Great Limpopo TFCA? Where can you find the best routes for four-wheel drive adventures in Maloti-Drakensberg TFCA?
The e-learning courses on the most exciting and popular destinations in these TFCAs answer all these questions and many more. They give general travel advice, offer resources on information on Covid 19, provide accommodation tips and showcase examples of sustainable and community-based tourism experiences. Users are interactively guided through individual course chapters, and visuals comprised of pictures, maps and videos, as well as quizzes.
Boundless Southern Africa’s free online training programs offer travel professionals the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Southern Africa’s Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) as sustainable tourism destinations – at their own pace. Registration for the free English courses, targeted at tourism professionals, is now available at https://boundless-southernafrica.org/online-training/.
