Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) has opened its newly upgraded passenger terminal, Terminal 2, at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.
The terminal upgrades were implemented to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic, cargo volumes and passenger numbers. The spacious Terminal 2 is being used for international arrivals and departures and has an annual capacity of four million passengers.
Zambia is upgrading airport infrastructure – including air strips – countrywide in a bid to improve the air transport sector. Outgoing Zambian President, Edgar Chagwa Lungu, said last week that government’s goal was to make Zambia a regional air transport hub.
