Rwanda operator Travulous has announced their new educational evenings in Rwanda which offer the chance to meet the former research colleagues of legendary gorilla primatologist, Dian Fossey. These exclusive Dian Fossey-inspired Events are designed to be either a specialist afternoon or evening activity that will easily slot into any one of your existing or forthcoming client itineraries.
After a morning of tracking mountain gorillas or golden monkeys at Volcanoes National Park followed by lunch at their lodge, clients arrive at Travulous’ special Behind-The-Scenes event for insight into the conservation of the endangered mountain gorilla, from past to present, before returning to their lodge for dinner, or later in the evening.
During the afternoon or evening, guests will have the opportunity to learn from renowned mountain gorilla conservation organisations and meet former research colleagues of Dian Fossey, including Craig Sholley, and hear stories about working and living with Dian at the original Karisoke Research Center.
These exclusive events include a presentation by specialist hosts, who lived and worked with Dian Fossey at the original Karisoke Research Center. The staff from renowned mountain gorilla conservation organisations will also join the event.
At the end of the afternoon or evening, guests depart and return to their accommodation near Volcanoes National Park. The afternoon event is the perfect option for those wishing to still have dinner at their lodge. Travulous can also assist with all necessary transfers, if needed.
