Rhotia Valley Tented Lodge is expanding its product offering with the introduction of two Bedouin-style family tents elevated on a wooden platform. The tents offer a scenic view of the Karatu Hills and will welcome guests from July.

Perched atop a hill, the lodge is in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit in Rhotia, near Karatu on the border of Ngorongoro Crater.

According to Willem Kuipers, the spokesperson for the lodge, the two new units, which feature a viewing deck overlooking the valley, bring the total number of tents to 19.

The lodge has also refurbished all the other tents to include new bathrooms, and the restaurant has been upgraded to serve à la carte dining.

Activities include cultural visits, horse riding and hiking along the Ngorongoro Crater rim.

Transfers to/from Manyara Airstrip, Arusha, Kilimanjaro Airport, Nairobi, and Dar es Salaam can be arranged.
