With a backdrop of lush greenery, clear ocean waters and tropical landscapes, a vacation at Four Seasons Resorts Seychelles is organically connected to the nature of the islands. To capitalize on the natural energy of the destination, Four Seasons Resort Seychelles and Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island are announcing the new Four Elements Wellness Program and a calendar of Visiting Practitioners.
Inspired by the four elements, these wellness practices will help the body and mind dive into a sense of deep release with Water, ground and encourage a sense of peace from Earth, nurture the soul and release stiffness with Air and energize to build up heat from within through Fire.
Speaking on the program’s launch, Berto Peña, Health and Wellness Expert at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island, says: “The beauty of nature is immersive in Seychelles, partly due to the captivating scenery, and the opportunity to enjoy al fresco living in the ever-tropical climate. The purity of its power allows guests to feel instantly soothed and rejuvenated, which is something we wanted to capitalize on with these new wellness offerings. The new program invites guests to give back to themselves by embracing nature, pausing and welcoming a temporary digital detox to focus entirely on the moment and their wellbeing.”
Water
The Resorts’ beaches are at the core of the island experiences. With more than 14 kilometres (close to 9 miles) of beaches to choose from on Desroches and turquoise clear waters on Mahé, guests can disconnect with the choice of relaxation or adventure.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
- Svadisthana Yoga (Sacral Chakra) – Just like the flow of water, human emotions flow without judgment. Recognizing these emotions enhances the ability to understand deeply and express any desires. This practice allows guests to restore balance and harmony. Restorative poses and stretches will be held longer, supported with bolsters.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island
- Sunset Yoga at the Jetty – A meditative journey from sound to silence, to unwind body and mind, and invite reflection on the day’s moments of meaning by the waters of the Indian Ocean.
Earth
Whether it’s through soaking in the panoramic views from a private terrace of a treetop villa on Mahé or exploring six kilometres (almost four miles) of cycling pathways on Desroches, the Resorts’ lush surroundings will ignite a sense of discovery and connection to nature.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
- Muladhara Yoga (Root Chakra) – A grounding practice that inspires a sense of tranquillity from within and allows guests to focus on being present in the moment. Postures will be focused on the legs, hips and lower back.
- NuCalm – A therapy that can be combined with any massage treatment and is used to produce a psychological relaxation that leaves the body rejuvenated and reconnected to the surroundings. This therapy involves the use of three steps: a biosignal disc is placed on the wrist to send beneficial biosignals throughout the body; listening to NuCalm created soundtracks oscillates brain wave function to bring about a sense of calmness; using a light-blocking eye mask to eliminate visual stimuli helps maintain a deep state of relaxation.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island
- Afro Yoga – A fusion of the traditional dance and therapeutic yoga asanas (postures) intended to guide guests to connect with their roots in an inclusive and diverse environment, free of any judgement.
Air
If adventure isn’t on the agenda, a moment to pause and inhale in the secluded locations of both Resorts can be the beginning to a mindful journey.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
- Anahata Yoga (Heart Chakra) – This heart-focused journey gives space to the body to be free, moving fluidly throughout the poses. Focusing on stretches to the spine and “opening the heart,” releasing stiffness from the neck and shoulders, simultaneously helping the posture.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island
- Sound Healing – Guests can bathe in the sound of vibrations as each singing bowl is tuned to different frequencies that create healing properties for the mind, body and spirit.
- Sunrise Yoga at the Lighthouse – Simple mantras and stretches to open body and mind to each day’s infinite possibilities and ripple positive intentions outward at the highest point on the island.
Fire
Guests can release tension or stress from their everyday lives through an energized tennis match on the floodlit courts of Desroches Island or a run up the granitic hillsides of Mahé.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles
- Manipura Yoga (Solar Plexus Chakra) – Starting with the “Breath of Fire” followed by a power flow sequence to promote concentration and control, this practise builds stamina and strength, while cultivating confidence, self-esteem and willpower.
- Mountain Meditation – A 30-minute hike up to the top of the mountain will reward guests with a scenically serene guided meditation. Here, guests may submit to the surrounding stillness and rhythmic flow of the ocean as they practice breathing techniques.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Desroches Island
- Stretch and Renew – A class that emphasizes the deep stretches of all major muscles and connective tissues through a series of slow movements and breath awareness.
