Aha Hotels & Lodges is making the most of the location of its new luxury tented camp in the Kruger National Park, which features seven self-catering tents that overlook the game-rich Sabie River.

Aha’s new Nkuhlu Tented Camp is halfway between Skukuza and Lower Sabie on the renowned H4-1 road. It is a popular location for nature enthusiasts and from the camp, guests can watch elephants and hippos swimming in the Sabie River.

Tents are well-appointed and feature a kitchenette with fridge and gas hob. Outside, there is a braai and patio – ideal for dinners under the stars.

Guests can self-drive and enjoy the park at their own pace, however guided safaris can also be arranged. The camp’s location also ensures that guests who go out early have the H4-1 area for a good portion of those golden morning-time game-viewing hours.

The camp is next door to the picturesque Nkuhlu picnic site, so guests can enjoy breakfast or lunch or stock up on essentials from the Nkuhlu Parks Shop, which is well stocked (note that the shop closes at 16h00).

Because the camp is unfenced, children under 12 are not permitted. An aha spokesperson said: “In the next few months, we will be adding a bush braai venue to the camp, which will allow for catered stays coupled with star gazing led by an astronomical expert.”
