Registrations have opened for exhibitors for Africa’s Travel Indaba, to take place from May 7-9, 2019. The event will once again take place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban.
The three-day tradeshow is hosted by South African Tourism, in partnership with Tourism KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) and eThekwini Municipality and attracts buyers from all over the world. In 2018, SA Tourism welcomed 1 747 buyers and more than 1 100 exhibitors. Overall registrations reached 7 000 from 80 countries.
SA Tourism’s Chief Convention Bureau Officer, Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo says: “As we plan for 2019, we are encouraged by the number of delegates who came from various parts of the world this year and we have taken into account their valuable feedback.”
SA Tourism is particularly encouraged by the success of the ‘Hidden Gems’ pavilion where more than a hundred small, medium and micro-enterprises (SMMEs) can showcase their products. Phindile Makwakwa, Tourism KZN’s Acting CEO says: “At Africa’s Travel Indaba, our SMMEs get access to unique networking opportunities from around the world. The value-rich interactions allow them to play in the mainstream sector and possibly clinch deals that can grow their businesses.”
