Ethiopian Airlines is to add three flights a week on the Addis Ababa-Johannesburg route from November 1.
The additional flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, complementing the current double-daily schedule. Plans are to make this third flight daily as well, should the uptake warrant it.
Flight ET849 will depart Addis Ababa at 15h30 and arrive in Johannesburg at 19h55. The return flight ET 848 will depart Johannesburg at 08h20 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 14h45.
More international flights
The carrier will further deepen its presence in the Middle East with the launch of a new direct flight to Amman, Jordan, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Our new flight will also further strengthen the economic ties between Ethiopia and Jordan.”
Flight ET428 will depart Addis Ababa at 22h30 and arrive in Amman at 02h05 the following day. The return flight ET429 will depart Amman on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 03h05 and arrive in Addis Ababa at 06h44. A Boeing 737 will be used on the route.
